Farmer Appreciation Night

The Swift Current & District Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 4th Annual “Farmer Appreciation Night” on March 23rd, 2018.  Our chamber realizes the importance and impact the farming community has on the sustainability of our economy.  We feel that a celebration is essential to recognize and commemorate our farming community.

Come out and hear Murad Al-Katib speak on the Ag industry Today. Murad Al-Katib, President and CEO of AGT Food and Ingredients Inc., guiding all aspects of the business and serving on the Board of Directors, is a strong financial and strategic business thinker, anticipating and mitigating risks in international trading and commodities. Murad completed his MBA before working in trade promotion for the Saskatchewan government. In 2001 he founded AGT, growing the company into a world leader in value-added pulses, staple foods and pulse ingredients for markets around the globe and building a Canadian start-up into a global billion dollar company. 

Murad has served on the Boards for the Canadian Special Crops Association, Pulse Canada, as the Chair of the Advisory Board for SME’s for the Canadian Minister of International Trade; as a panel member for renewal of Canada’s Global Commerce Strategy for the Government of Canada and the Advisory Committee for the Review of the Canada Transportation Act for the Minister of Transport. Currently, Murad serves on the Board of the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada and is the current Chair of Economic Development Regina.
